Today we are launching our first official competition, SFAR’s End of Summer Contest. During the month of August we are asking you to submit new and funny stories that could win you a sweet prize.
Submission topics can be anything related to relationships, dating, hook-ups, mishaps and can be in the form of stories, pictures, videos, screenshots, or anything that made you say “I am single for a reason!” Whether you’re a guy or girl, gay or straight, we want your best content!
Every story submitted this August will be considered for the grand prize.
Why are you launching a contest? Summer is one of our favorite times of year, and as it comes to a close we want to celebrate the fun, embarrassing, regrettable times that have been had by singles this season. Also, of course, we love any opportunity for our readers to share their stories AND get a chance to acquire some sweet SFAR swag.
Is there a prize? Of course there’s a prize! The writer of the most popular story will win a collection of SFAR branded goodies, as well as a $50 iTunes gift card.
How do I submit? Submissions can be sent to contestsubmissions@singleforareason.com.
Can I submit more than once? Yes, you can submit as much content as you want!
Will my story be anonymous? Absolutely. As with all user-submitted content on SFAR, your stories will be edited for grammar and posted anonymously to the blog. The only people who will be aware of your identity, should you win, are the blogs’ editors, who will be mailing you your prize. It goes without saying that your privacy is of utmost importance and your identity will not be shared with anyone.
How do I know if I win? The winner of the contest will be determined by the amount of conversation and engagement it receives from readers. This means the post with the most Facebook likes, comments, and tweets about it will be declared the winner!

The following conversation was overheard while dining at my favorite local restaurant Friday evening. The two guys involved were young, nice looking young men approximately 30 years old.
Guy 1: I saw you texting before. Is she in town?
Guy 2: Yeah, sounds like it.
Guy 1: Oh yeah, she’ll be in town? I’ll change the sheets for you, man, something nice.
Guy 2: (Scoffs)
Guy 1: You earned that. You dated her.
Guy 2: Oh yeah?
Guy 1: Doesn’t that mean you earned the right to fuck her whenever you want? Yes.
